The Perfect Nanny is a brilliant thriller written from the perspective of two characters. Sophy Pemberton has it all, at least that’s how it appears to the outside world. She lives in a perfect home, in a smart neighbourhood with her handsome and successful husband and beautiful baby. Liv Granger’s life couldn’t be more different. She is grieving for the older brother she lost and is consumed by a need to revenge his untimely death by taking everything from Sophy, the woman she blames for causing it. When Liv finds herself out work, she offers Sophy her services as nanny to her baby boy, Sophy is relieved. She desperately needs help to bring some order into her chaotic home. But life isn’t as clear cut as either of the women imagine and Liv soon discovers that there is much more going on in Sophy’s life than she could ever have expected.

I don’t want to ruin anyone’s enjoyment of this book by giving away too much of the plot but will say that The Perfect Nanny is seamlessly written by the two authors, Karen Clarke and Amanda Brittany. I was equally as intrigued when reading both characters’ points of view and as the story unfolded and I discovered more about each woman’s life the tension increased until the brilliant and shocking ending.

This is a fast-paced book with unexpected twists and turns that kept me guessing about the different characters, what they were up to, and their motives. Just when I thought I knew what might happen next, I was proved wrong and having read this book I have to admit that I’m glad I’m not a young mother looking to employ a nanny for my child.
