My second psychological suspense/domestic noir, While I Slept came out this month on 22 May.

This is the story of artist, Pilar and her architect husband, Theo. They are a young, happily married couple and eagerly anticipating the birth of their first child. When Pilar is involved in an accident, she loses their baby and their marriage almost disintegrates. They move to Cornwall for a fresh start, but someone isn’t as keen as they are for their marriage to work.

This book is about love and relationships, but it’s also about secrets, guilt and jealousy. I love writing my contemporary romance series – as Georgina Troy – but I also love the darker side of psychological thrillers, especially those set in and around someone’s home. After all, if you can’t feel safe at home, where can you feel safe?

When I plot my thrillers, I think about what would scare me, and I have to admit that what happens to Pilar would definitely make me bolt my doors and not want to be left alone in my house.

I was delighted when a reader told me that she thought this was a very creepy novel, so much so that she even felt unnerved reading it during the day in her office. That makes me very happy.
